Introducing DesignOneSource, the New Specification Division of HDI

General News

Introducing DesignOneSource, the new specification division of Hardwoods Distribution Inc. (“HDI”). The new division is organized to provide the design and millwork community seamless specification support for decorative surface materials across North America by aligning leading global suppliers and front-of-trend interior decor products that adhere to the highest environmental standards. Supported by a vast internal information network, providing instant access to design inspiration, trend insight, vendor coordination, training and technical product support; DesignOneSource can provide the results needed to help succeed through this challenging time.

“The primary objective of the new service is to stimulate demand across North America for decorative surfaces, then channel those opportunities towards our customers base.” Advised Todd Graham, DesignOneSource North American Specification Manager, “Two years ago we determined that the industry was evolving and needed a different type of support than was currently being provided. So we went back to the drawing board and created a new program totally focused on servicing the needs of the A&D client base
based on today’s conditions.”

The DesignOneSource specification team includes 15 experienced industry professionals, combined with a tremendous product offering supplied by 66 distribution centers that represent materials from: Rugby Architectural Building Products, Hardwoods Specialty Products and Paxton Lumber. Creating a project just got easier with over 500,000 SKUs that are integrated with real time material tracking, order processing, and inventory status. The selection of architectural interior décor materials including TFL, prefinished wood panels, high gloss and matte panels, decorative veneers, solid surfaces, quartz and HPL provides design flexibility for residential and commercial environments of any scale. Interfaced with a large team of regionally located A&D specification representatives and a powerful website, you can get exactly what you need to complete your project.

The easily navigable, and highly informative website offers project imagery, documents, tools and numerous support services. To increase productivity it features a series of “accelerators” to reduce navigation to a single click to access content such as ordering
samples; or arranging a personalized product presentation from an a la carte menu (an industry first) that allows selection from a menu to tailor the presentation to fit specific requirements and have it as dine in – we will come to you, or carry out – virtual delivery. Satisfy a need for knowledge with online CEU training with on-demand product education, or experience 3D environments with expansive customization options using the virtual reality design tools. Product specifications for all suppliers are in one place, thereby eliminating time consuming navigation across the site. View design materials come to life in the inspirational galleries or in the featured residential and commercial project galleries.
