Quanex is excited to reveal the winners of its 2022 Scholarship Program, made possible by The Quanex Foundation.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce the Quanex Foundation’s 2022 Scholarship Program Winners,” said George Wilson, President and CEO, Quanex. “Congratulations to these students and their families, who have worked so hard to get where they are today. From everyone at Quanex, we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements and wish them all the best as they take these next steps for their future.”

The Quanex Foundation’s Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students of Quanex employees. In addition to supporting four-year college students, this program has been broadened to include students pursuing a degree from a vocational or technical school or two-year college. A third-party administrator evaluates applicants for the Quanex Foundation Scholarship Program. Winners were chosen based on multiple criteria, including academic accomplishments, community service and extracurricular activities.

Two students have received the Bill & Iris Griffiths Scholarship: Jaylynn Carpenter and Harrison Lee. Jaylynn is the daughter of Tony Carpenter, Maintenance Technician at Quanex Homeshield in Rice Lake, WI. She is enrolled for Fall 2022 at Northwood Technical School, where she will be pursuing a degree in registered nursing. Harrison is the son of Marcos Lee, Director of Audit Services at Quanex in Houston. He is enrolled for Fall 2022 at Texas A&M University, where he is seeking a degree in mechanical engineering.

Additionally, two students have received the William A. McHattie Scholarship: Haley Juetten and Matthew Howell. Haley is the daughter of Chris Juetten, Production Supervisor at Quanex Custom Components in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She is enrolled for fall classes at Concordia College, where she will be seeking a degree in psychology. Matthew is the son of Travis Howell, Maintenance Manager at Quanex IG Systems in Cambridge, Ohio. He is enrolled for Fall 2022 classes at the University of Akron, where he will pursue a degree in chemical engineering.

“The entire Quanex family wishes each of these students luck in their academic endeavors this fall and beyond,” said Wilson. “It’s our hope that these scholarships will help them flourish and make an impact on their communities now and into the future.”
