River City Wood Products Acquires Southwood Lumber & Pallet

River City Wood Products is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of Southwood Lumber and Pallet out of Orrville, OH. Southwood has been in business for over 35 years and is one of the biggest new pallet manufacturers in the Midwest. It employs 65+ full time employees and produces lumber from sister company Forest City Lumber as well as 60+ sawmills throughout OH, MI, KY, WV, and PA. The deal also includes full service Trucking Company RCS Transportation (formerly S & W Express).

Along with Southwood Pallet, River City Wood Products operates River City Solutions in West Salem, OH which focuses on pallet recycling and specialty custom pallets for customers throughout OH, MI, IN, IL, and PA.

Other Southwood Pallet Highlights:

• 8 Nailing Machines (3 Viking, 2 Woodpecker)
• 5 gang saws (3 Brewer)
• Cuts 30 million board feet per year of lumber
• Build over 2 million pallets per year
