Westlake Ace Hardware Agrees to Acquire Groom & Sons’ McKinney, Texas Location

Westlake Ace Hardware announced it is acquiring Groom & Sons’ Ace Hardware location in McKinney, Texas. It is anticipated the purchase will be completed on February 25, 2019. With this acquisition, Westlake will own and operate 13 stores in Texas.

According to Westlake, it will be a seamless transition of ownership and the store will retain management, store personnel, and most of the current product mix. As part of the purchase, the store will become a Westlake Ace Hardware location. Groom & Sons’ has been in business since 1948 and will continue to own and operate its other stores in Athens, Dallas and Mabank.

The 12,717 sq. ft. McKinney store will continue to sell traditional hardware products such as fasteners, tools, plumbing and electrical supplies. Additionally, the store features a full range of grills and BBQ accessories from Weber, Traeger and Big Green Egg, Stihl outdoor power equipment, and Benjamin Moore paint.
