General News

An employee from our Federated Co-operatives Limited (“FCL”) Edmonton Distribution Centre has been confirmed for COVID-19. The individual, who tested positive on July 7, 2020, last worked on July 6. The team member is now self-isolating as are team members who may have been in contact with the individual.

Our priority at FCL, and across the Co-operative Retailing System, is the health and safety of our employees, communities and neighbours. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we have continued taking precautions to prevent exposure to the virus by followe provided by public health authorities.

At the Edmonton Distribution Centre, and all of our facilities, we’ve increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitization at our sites and implemented measures to support safe physical distancing for those who continue to report to work.

We are being as transparent as possible and disclosing confirmed cases at our facilities while keeping any personal information confidential out of respect for our team members. We’re doing everything we can to keep our team members safe while supporting local Co-ops and supplying essential goods and services to co-ops across Western Canada.

This is the second confirmed case at an FCL facility. The first occurred at our Saskatoon Home Office in May.
