Report: Fire Destroys Katahdin Forest Products Oakfield Sawmill
According to local news reports, a fire erupted at Katahdin Forest Products Co. (HQ: Oakfield, ME), causing significant damage.
The County reports that a “Sept. 16 fire at Katahdin Forest Products (“Katahdin”) left one of its sawmill buildings totally destroyed, as well as most of the equipment inside it.”
Katahdin president, David Gordon, said that the “incident will affect the company’s fencing production, but not it’s housing production and the business would continue to resume without any stoppage.”
