Tony Jones to Head the Finance Team at Westlake Hardware

Westlake Ace Hardware recently promoted Tony Jones to vice president of finance and controller. He replaces the retiring Pam Samulcek. Samulcek served as vice president of finance and controller since 2006.

In his new role, Jones leads all finance and accounting functions for Westlake Ace, including budgeting, acquisitions, and financial planning and reporting. He also manages the company’s accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking teams.

Since joining Westlake in 2016 as senior director of financial planning and analysis, Jones has led Westlake Ace’s monthly business reviews and oversees the financial model the hardware retailer uses for evaluating growth opportunities. Additionally, during the past four years, he implemented a system to enhance the company’s pricing analysis platform.

Prior to joining Westlake Ace, Jones was director of financial planning and analysis for DineEquity – parent company of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar and International House of Pancakes (“IHOP”). Before that, he held management-level finance positions with Applebee’s and YUM Brands.

A graduate of Wichita State University, Jones is a member of both the Kansas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Past community involvement includes serving as an assistant Scoutmaster and Merit Badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America, a “big’ in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, and coaching various youth sports teams.
