Obituary: Ronald Kenneth Wood

Ronald “Ronnie” Kenneth Wood, 85, of Ridgeway, Va. passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021. He was born on July 31, 1935 to the late Wayne Elijah Wood and Vera Lillian Bowling Wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Gray Cruise.

Ronnie was vice president of Doyle Lumber Company and was president and co-owner of Pine Products. He had very strong work ethics. He loved blue grass and old time music and playing practical jokes on anyone.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Rodgers Wood; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Wood Boyd (Seth) of Ridgeway, Va.; brothers, Bobby Eugene Wood (Anna) of Tullahoma, Tenn., Leon Ray Wood (Glenda) of Collinsville, Va., Larry Wood of Reidsville, N.C.; grandchildren, Tyler Amos, Owen Amos, Morgan Amos, Jonathan Amos, Sarah Boyd; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Michael Morrison officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Norris Funeral Services. Burial will follow the funeral at Roselawn Burial Park.

Due to Covid-19, all restrictions must be followed and only half capacity will be able to attend the funeral service.
