General News

Ware-Butler Inc. Lumber & Building Supplies is expanding to Greenville, Maine. The new location will be open by this summer. “Ware-Butler Inc. is excited to be expanding to the Greenville/Moosehead Lake region in 2021. This will make our 6th location, as we strive to provide Maine contractors and consumers with competitively priced and consistently available building products. With Pleasant River Lumber and other partner suppliers, such as Mathews Brothers, we expect to be able to offer entire “Made-In-Maine” home packages in the months ahead. We also can see a great partnership and synergies with our new company addition, Moosehead Cedar Log Homes, “Alan Orcutt, Director of Retail Operations for Pleasant River Lumber.

In conjunction with this announcement, Pleasant River Lumber has purchased Moosehead Cedar Log Homes (“MCLH”) in Greenville. They have been in business for over 30 years. Owned and operated by Randy & Lucy Comber since 1996. The Combers’ plan to stay on through the transition, in a consulting role. “Moosehead Cedar Log Homes is pleased to become part of the Pleasant River Lumber family of companies. The opportunity to be associated with Pleasant River and Ware-Butler Inc. will allow us to improve our manufacturing capabilities, expand our product offerings, and increase our overall competitiveness in the Log Home industry nationwide, “Barry Ivey, President of MCLH.

Moosehead Cedar Log Homes will move its operation from Greenville to the Pleasant River Lumber mill in Dover-Foxcroft. There, they will be updated with all new equipment to accommodate production, due to the increase demand for their beautiful cedar homes. Ware-Butler Inc.’s 6th location will be at the Greenville Industrial Park site, vacated by MCLH. Starting in the spring, contractors can contact Jason Simpson at (207)-924-4007 for pricing and project estimates.
