Report: Fires Causes Slowdown at NorSask
According to local news reports, Norsask Forest Products Inc. (HQ: Meadow Lake, SK), had a fire erupt at their site.
Northern Pride Publications reports that in the afternoon of Saturday March 27, 2021, a fire broke out “originating near the control room for kilns one and two.” Meadow Lake Tribal Council Industrial Investments President Al Balisky stated that, “The integrity of the sawmill itself is still at 100 per cent – it was just the two kilns that were impacted. All sawmill/planer mill equipment assets were unaffected by the fire – the fire only resulted in the loss of kilns one and two. Fire damage also occurred to the west wall of the sawmill stacker building.”
