Eric Boylan, president of Alpine Appliance Center, and Kodiak Building Partners announce the acquisition of Alpine by Kodiak, as of February 1, 2021. This acquisition marks Kodiak’s 27th transaction in its tenth year of business.

Alpine Appliance Center is a Colorado home appliance supplier with locations in Avon and Basalt, catering to homeowners, architects, and home builders in the Vail Valley and Roaring Fork Valley. With their in-house factory authorized technicians and installers, Alpine has become the market leader by both installing and servicing the 30 brands that they offer.

With an accounting background and experience as a controller for a kitchen supply company, Eric bought a small appliance company in 2001. He recognized that the common weakness among his competitors was service. Throughout the growth and re-branding of the company, the instances in which Alpine was able to jump in to fix a problem or service a product was viewed as an opportunity – not a headache. It was a chance to shine and bolster their good name and reputation.

In the beginning, Eric worked every aspect of the business for long hours and seven days a week. As the company’s success grew, he was able to hire talented people to best use their over 200 years of combined experience in their field.

By joining the Kodiak family, Eric looks forward to the extra layers of support that will be provided. He said, “This acquisition will result in more opportunities for the growth of Alpine, which means more opportunities for my employees…my extended family.” Eric is excited about the future and working hand-in-hand with Kodiak and their companies. He shared that he is reinvigorated and can’t wait to conquer new markets.

On April 1, Alpine changed its name to Specialty Appliance to take advantage of all the synergies between the two companies. Eric will continue to lead Specialty Appliances’ Mountain division and report to Greg Ulvedal and Kirk Dryden, Co-Presidents of Specialty Appliance, another Kodiak company. Greg and Kirk both welcome the Alpine folks to the Specialty and Kodiak family and said, “Alpine’s work ethic and strategies are perfectly aligned to complement what Specialty Appliance is already doing in Colorado. Kodiak can provide Alpine the support that will help them achieve their future ambition goals, and we are looking forward to being a part of their next chapter.”
