Rocky’s Ace Hardware Acquires Karp’s Hardware of Stamford, CT

Family-owned and -operated for more than 95 years, Karp’s Ace Hardware has been purchased by Rocky’s Ace Hardware, one of the country’s largest family-owned Ace Hardware dealers, now with 38 locations in eight states.

“Both Karp’s and Rocky’s have very similar roots,” said Rocky’s Ace Hardware President Rocco Falcone. “We’ve both been family-owned and -operated for nearly 100 years. Since my grandfather opened our first location in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1926, our Rocky’s team has understood the importance of hometown values and putting the customer first in all our business actions.”

Falcone noted that customers will see most of the same faces from Karp’s at Rocky’s, and Marc and David Fogel will remain on the team for a short time to assist with the transition.

“Marc and David have been instrumental in Karp’s advancements and focus on the customer through the years, an approach that we will strive to continue and enhance,” he said. “Customers will continue to receive the same great service they’ve enjoyed for nearly a century.”

Falcone also said customers will benefit from some exciting changes over the next few months including expanded Ace Rewards features, product selection and online capabilities.

He continued, “We plant roots in each of our neighborhood locations and intend to maintain the community focus established by the Karps. We’re excited to be a part of the Stamford community and have already received a warm welcome.”
