With great sorrow we announce that John Clarence Bolger passed away on June 30, 2022 at the age of 89.

Jack was born in Elgin, IL on October 12, 1932 to Clarence and Martha Bolger, and was one of 5 children: Mercedes, Dick, Joan, and Mary-Ellen. He was married to his wife, Ruth, for 62 years. Together they raised four children: Timothy, Teresa, Chris, and Karen. Jack leaves behind seven grandchildren: Katrina, Michael, Lauren, Cadin, Megan, Evan and Claire; and one great granddaughter, Margot.

Jack was a patriarch who loved hosting large gatherings filled with laughter, stories and jokes. He celebrated life, treating others with kindness and generosity. He was an honest man with strong principles and a very dry sense of humor. He was the successful business owner of Edmund A. Allen Lumber Company. He was also a board member to several financial institutions, benefactor to his community, exceptional woodworker, world traveler, and active parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Jack proudly served his country with honor in the U.S. Army in Korea.

Funeral services will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, July 7th. Visitation begins at 10 am and funeral mass at 11 am. He will be interred at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Cemetery in Barrington, IL.

Condolences may be sent to the family at: 1717 Heather Dr. Algonquin, IL 60102. Jack would prefer donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Home in Algonquin.
