Jones recently celebrated the groundbreaking of their new $50 million corporate headquarters facility in Midtown Hattiesburg across from The University of Southern Mississippi. Jones portfolio companies including Codaray Construction, FV Recycling, Jones Logistics, Jones Lumber, Jones Power, Portabull, Spot, and Big Black River Holdings will be headquartered in this highly ammenitized, Class A building. The project is the culmination of an extensive site selection process and facility design that reflects the dynamic, entrepreneurial culture of Jones but also embraces the vision and architectural integrity of the Midtown master plan. This 80,000 sq. ft. headquarters office will serve as a beacon for southern Mississippi with an estimated completion date of Fall 2024.

Jones Breaks Ground on New Headquarters

Jones began over 70 years ago as Jones Lumber Company in Southwest Mississippi. Today, the Jones portfolio of companies includes 10 direct-controlled operating businesses, which primarily fit into one of the firm’s two end-markets of focus: transportation/logistics and business-to-business SaaS services. Jones operates globally with over 1,000 employees in total, 500 of those are employed in the State of MS. The new headquarters facility will serve as the primary office for over 300 MS-based employees.

Jonathan Jones, CEO, states “I am most proud of our groundbreaking on our headquarters because it will have a generational impact on our town and our portfolio companies. I hope our headquarters creates inspiration for others and not envy. Our biggest constraint for growth has been our ability to acquire talent. Our adjacency with The University of Southern Mississippi and Forrest General Hospital will enable us to recruit top talent while also providing that talent with a great place to work.”

The headquarters will consist of four floors and three balconies that overlook exquisite landscape architecture. There will be eight conference rooms, including a large conference center to be used for talent development. Other features include a glass atrium, three mother’s rooms, EV charging stations, and a promenade activating the District of Midtown in a park-like setting.

The Jones headquarters is slated to begin construction in Fall 2022 and will take approximately two years to complete with occupancy expected in Fall of 2024.
