Katariina Kemppainen Appointed Metsa Group’s SVP, Group R&D

Metsä Group continues to accelerate its investments into research and development. A new Group R&D function was set up in summer of 2021 and the consequent build-up phase has integrated the function well into the larger Metsä Group entity.

The role of the group-level research and development activities will be further strengthened in the future. This enables us to meet the goals set by our owners, customers and society even better than before. Katariina Kemppainen, the person in charge of the function, has been appointed SVP, Group R&D, as of 1 January, 2023. She will continue to report to the CEO of Metsä Group’s innovation company Metsä Spring, Niklas von Weymarn.
