TAL Holdings Promotes Executive Leaders

TAL Holdings, one of the fastest growing family-owned building material centers in the Pacific Northwest, announced the promotion of two key team members. Vernon Shallenberger has been promoted to the position of vice president of sales and operations, and Dana Cowart has been named vice president of technology and acquisition integration.

In this new role, Vernon Shallenberger will be responsible for managing TAL’s operations, marketing, and merchandising to ensure the company meets its sales, financials, and operational goals. Shallenberger started as director of operations with TAL in May 2022. He has over 30 years of experience in the LBM and retail industries. Prior to TAL, he spent 15 years at White Cap in roles ranging from branch manager to area operations manager where he was responsible for the daily operations of locations in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Nevada.

Dana Cowart has been named vice president of technology and acquisition integration, a pivotal role that will see Cowart managing TAL’s business information systems (“BIS”) and inventory, as well as developing a team to support the company’s acquisition strategy. Cowart will work closely with Dave Dittmer, managing director of acquisitions. During Cowart’s eight years at TAL, he has served in a variety of roles, including branch manager, director of operations, and vice president of sales and marketing.
