Obituary

Harold Eugene “Joe” Stuck, 88, of Mount Pleasant Mills, entered into eternal rest, Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill. He was the husband of the late Helen L. (Troup) Stuck who preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2022.

Harold was born at home in Richfield on Oct. 10, 1934, a son of the late Ralph and Pauline (Graybill) Stuck. He was a 1952 graduate of Freeburg High School. Since his childhood he worked with his father Ralph at his business Ralph Stuck Lumber Company, Mount Pleasant Mills. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Army from June of 1957 until his reserve obligation in June of 1963. Upon returning home from the U.S. Army, he continued with the family Lumber Company along with his son Joe until his retirement in 2008.

He attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Mills and was a member of the Shade Mountain Golf Course, Tip Top Hunting camp in Wellsboro and a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1173, Selinsgrove.

Harold enjoyed playing golf and hunting.

He is survived by his two children, Joe (Mindy) Stuck and Alison (David) Bratton; four grandchildren, Joseph Stuck and his companion MacKenzie Mortimore, Mariah Stuck and her companion Cameron Knouse, Jay Bratton, and Drew Bratton; one sister, Eunice (Lawrence) Garman; and seven sisters-in-law, Lj Hoffman, Shirley Brouse, Lucy Ulrich, Rita Aucker, Ruth Troup, Gail Troup, and Norma Troup.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 9084 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills with Rev. Hugo Schroeder III officiating.

Burial with full military honors accorded by the Selinsgrove American Legion Post 25 and Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631 will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
