L.J. Smith Stair Systems announces the start-up of its new state-of-the-art wood handrail production line.

The fully automated, 450-plus-foot line integrates cutting-edge technologies that double L.J. Smith’s capacity to more efficiently manufacture best-in-class handrails while also dramatically reducing order-to-delivery lead times.

L.J. Smith’s wood handrail offerings include:

  • More than 40 standard profiles in 8- to 24-foot lengths
  • Five Standard Species including Beech, Poplar, Red Oak, White Oak, and Soft Maple
  • Six Premium Species including Alder, Brazilian Cherry, American Cherry, Hard Maple, Hickory, and Walnut
  • Customized products available in any hardwood or softwood species that can be responsibly sourced
