LMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Eddie Crosslin and Matthew Kuiken to its Board of Directors. Eddie and Matthew bring a wealth of industry knowledge and a unique perspective to the boardroom.

“We are very excited to have both Eddie Crosslin and Matt Kuiken join the LMC Board of directors. Their years of experience in the industry and working on numerous LMC committees will add a tremendous amount of value to the board” says Mark Torrisi, Chairman of the LMC Board of Directors and President of Jackson Lumber and Millwork.

Eddie Crosslin has seen consolidation and come out the other side.

Eddie Crosslin is the current owner and operator of Crosslin Building Supply in Eagleville, TN and knows first-hand the impact of consolidation on family-owned businesses in the industry.

“The consolidation we’re seeing today is causing already large companies to continue to get larger,” Eddie said. “At the same time, as a group, LMC dealers are larger than any of them. If dealers can see the value in all of us working together and purchasing together, there will continue to be a place for us in the industry.”

Eddie’s experience in navigating consolidation in lumber and building materials businesses gives him invaluable insight into thriving in a period where family businesses are continually.

Prior to his appointment to the Board of Directors, Eddie served on many LMC committees over several decades, including the Technology Committee and Finance Committees.

Matthew Kuiken runs a diverse business in one of the most complex markets.

Newly appointed board member Matthew Kuiken is a fourth-generation owner and operator of Kuiken Brothers. Founded in 1912, the operation currently boasts 325 employees across nine locations in New York and New Jersey.

Diversification is demanded by the market his family’s business serves, and Kuiken Brothers delivers with a mix of services across residential and commercial building materials, including, single family, multi-family, and commercial and mixed-use.

Prior to his appointment on the board of directors, Matthew was a founding member of the LMC Aspiring Leaders’ Committee, served on the Planning Development & Education Committee for three years, and served two terms on the Forest Products Committee including a term as vice-chair.

On his appointment to the board, Matthew said, “Good governance requires constant change and new perspectives because our industry is always changing.”

“Housing inventory in the United States is nowhere near where it should be to support population growth, shifting demographics, and changes in the community landscape,” Matthew said. “These are opportunities for our industry, but they come with the challenge to diversify our businesses. There is an opportunity for LMC and our dealers to respond to this shifting market place.”
