After 16 years with the company, Director of Chips and the Coos Bay Shipping Terminal Keith Eibel has announced that he will retire from Roseburg effective July 31, 2024. John Holte will be promoted to Manager of Chips and Coos Bay Shipping Terminal effective April 29, 2024, with Keith serving in an advisory role after that date.

Keith joined Roseburg in 2008 as Chips Manager, overseeing procurement and management of chips, residual fiber, and the Coos Bay Shipping Terminal. “Keith’s knowledge of the business and his exceptional ability to forge genuine relationships and working partnerships with both suppliers and international customers have made Roseburg a global leader in the supply of pulp and fuel chips,” President of Roseburg Resources Scott Folk said. “For that we thank Keith and wish him and his family well in retirement.”

John’s new responsibilities will include chip exports, residual fiber management, and oversight of operations at the Coos Bay Shipping Terminal. He will report to Gabe Crane, Senior Director of Timberlands, Resource Operations, Chips, and Western Fiber Supply.

“With John’s background in mill management and more recent experience with chips and residuals, we are confident that he will step in and maintain the strong business that has been developed, and expand additional opportunities in the future,” Gabe said.

John has been with Roseburg since 2020, serving as Western Residual Fiber Manager. He spent the previous 25 years with Northwest Hardwoods, first in log procurement and then as a mill manager in Washington for eight years and in Virigina for three. John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management from Oregon State University.

Please join us in congratulating Keith on his well-earned retirement and John on his new role.
