Vida Announces Leadership Transition
Vida announced that following six years as CEO, Måns Johansson, will be taking on a new role within the group as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Vida AB, and he will also continuing as President for Canfor Europe.
”It has been a privilege to be CEO of Vida”, said Måns Johansson. ”Vida is a company where I have not only dedicated my entire professional life, but with my grandfather as the founder of Vida, I also grew up with this company. I am incredibly proud of our culture, our employees and the results we have managed to create together.”

Karl-Johan Löwenadler will assume the role of CEO of Vida AB effective of October 1st. Karl-Johan has devoted his entire professional life to the sawmill industry. He started at Vida in 1998 and initially worked as a planner at the sawmill in Bellö. Karl-Johan increasingly focused on sales at the then-newly established company Vida Wood, where he became CEO in 2019.

Vida is a global supplier of refined products from sustainable Swedish forests. The group has approximately 1,600 employees at 24 production facilities, of which 12 are sawmills. The industries are strategically located near the forest owners in Småland, Skåne and Västra Götaland. Production is mainly focused on structural timber for a number of different markets. 88 percent of Vida’s sawn wood products are exported to Europe, the USA, Australia, Africa and Asia. The business also includes packaging manufacturing, bedding and pellet manufacturing, biofuel trading and house manufacturing.
