Enyart’s Hardware Marks 50 Years of Serving Rochester with Community Celebration

Enyart’s Hardware, a cornerstone of the Rochester community for half a century, proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary with a weekend of festivities that thanked the customers and neighbors who have supported the business since its founding in 1975 by Emerson and Barbara Enyart.
Now owned and operated by their daughter, Janet Daake, Enyart’s Hardware continues its commitment to hometown service, reliable expertise, and quality products as a proud member of the Do it Best cooperative.
Located at 1619 Main Street, the store hosted a 50th Anniversary Bash on Friday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Aug. 16. The two-day celebration featured a full slate of customer appreciation events, exclusive promotions, and local food favorites.
Friday’s festivities included vendor specials and live product demonstrations from brands like Milwaukee and Scotts. A local radio station broadcasted live from the store, while visitors enjoyed complimentary hot dogs and popcorn. On Saturday, guests grabbed bites from Dick’s Taco Truck and indulged in Red Barn’s famous elephant ears.
Throughout both days, shoppers enjoyed 20% off storewide (excluding power tools and grills), along with giveaways, limited-time specials, and commemorative anniversary buckets available for $5 or free with enrollment in the Best RewardsSM program.
“We’re all about helping the customer when they’re working on a project,” said Daake. “We aim to provide great products and solid information, and we want to stay locally owned and serve our neighbors for decades to come.”
Store manager T.J. Leininger added, “We take pride in supporting Rochester’s contractors as well as DIYers. The front of the store is for retail shoppers, while the back is fully dedicated to contractor needs.”
With a team of approximately five full-time and ten part-time employees, Enyart’s Hardware continues to offer everything from paint and plumbing supplies to electrical products and lawn and garden care, serving both seasoned professionals and weekend warriors with expert advice and friendly service.
As part of the celebration, the store also honored the legacy of founders Emerson and Barbara Enyart, whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for the family-owned business.
“Everything we’ve become traces back to those who had the courage to start it,” Daake said.
