Kamps, Inc. and General Motors Win Reusable Packaging Association’s ‘Excellence in Reusable Packaging’ Award

Kamps, Inc., a national leader in innovative pallet and packaging services, announced that it has been named a co-recipient of the 2025 Excellence in Reusable Packaging Award in the Reusable System category by the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA). The award recognizes General Motors (GM) and Kamps, Inc. for their outstanding achievement in executing a comprehensive national pallet management program that delivered significant cost savings, improved operational efficiency, and achieved substantial environmental benefits.
Over the course of four years, Kamps developed and implemented a program that provided end-to-end visibility and control over pallet assets, ensuring that pallets were efficiently collected, sorted, repaired or harvested, and returned for reuse within GM’s vast supply chain. To achieve this, Kamps worked with GM on research, pilot programs, and strategic capacity increases to ensure the sustainability and strength of the program.
“We are incredibly grateful to receive this award alongside the procurement and packaging engineering optimization teams at General Motors,” said Mitchell Kamps, CEO and President of Kamps, Inc. “This project is a perfect example of how our Comprehensive Pallet Life Cycle Services™ (CPLS) can drive real, measurable value. This is a win-win that showcases our commitment to sustainable and innovative packaging services that help our customers secure, sustain, and save.”
The Kamps, Inc. solution provided GM with a centralized, transparent system that tracked pallet assets across multiple locations, eliminating waste and optimizing the flow of materials. This innovative approach allowed GM to drastically reduce its consumption of new pallets while maximizing the life cycle of existing ones
The Reusable System category of the RPA awards recognizes primary (end-user) companies and their suppliers that have developed and implemented measurable reusable packaging solutions within a business-to-business supply chain. The work with Kamps, Inc. and General Motors exemplifies this, demonstrating the powerful impact of a collaborative approach to pallet management and supply chain logistics.
