Ashby Lumber Announces Emily Morgan as Chief Executive Officer

Ashby Lumber, a family-owned business providing the Bay Area with building materials and supply for over 50 years, today announced that Emily Morgan will be the new Chief Executive Officer. Dan Easley, former President for the past 30 years will retire on March 10, 2020.

Morgan has over 16 years in the business that started in her teenage years helping her mother and uncle around the lumber yard. As a co-owner and head of business development over the past 5 years, Morgan led the company through significant growth and changes.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Emily’s caliber and experience lead Ashby Lumber,” said Dan Easley, outgoing President of Ashby Lumber. “I know the Ashby Team will provide her the support to carry Ashby Lumber through the next 50 years.”

Morgan said, “I am honored and excited to be taking on the role of CEO. Our grandfather, my mother Kathy, and uncle Jeff loved Ashby and devoted their careers to making it the best place for customers to shop and for employees to work. We consider it a huge accomplishment to make it to the third generation. There is pride in keeping a family business going.” She adds that, “Dan has been a devoted and dedicated leader at Ashby Lumber for over 30 years. He did a remarkable job during his time with the company and we wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. I know that I speak for everyone at Ashby Lumber in thanking Dan for his leadership and tireless dedication to the company.”
