RONA Vegreville Celebrates its Official Grand Opening

Vantage Builders, who acquired the store in spring 2023, celebrates the opening of the store following its conversion to the RONA banner and the completion of the store’s expansion
RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating and servicing some 425 corporate and affiliated stores, joins Darren Davis, Ben Sawatzky, Cory Batog, Paul Ziprick and Dayton Gegolick, co-owners of the RONA Vegreville store–previously known as Vantage Building Supplies–, and their team in celebrating the grand opening of their store in Alberta. On June 19, leaders from RONA’s dealer support team, partners and store employees gathered at the store for the traditional board-cutting ceremony, which marks the official opening of the store under the RONA banner, as well as the completion of the store’s expansion, which began when Vantage Builders acquired this location in spring 2023.
Several achievements since the acquisition
RONA Vegreville’s expansion plan transformed the store into a major design and building centre, taking the retailer in a new direction and building on its presence in the region for over 20 years. This project added 3,000 square feet to the existing retail space, bringing the total retail space of the store to 10,000 square feet, and allowing to increase the store’s offering to better serve local Pros and DIYers. There are now over 5,000 products available in store, including seasonal products and everyday consumer goods across several essential departments for DIYers and Pros, such as paint, home decor, kitchen, bathroom, appliances and much more.
“It’s a very exciting time for the entire team, who’s been working hard to bring this project to life so we can serve the local community even better. Our market is evolving, and we are listening to our community to deliver the customer experience they expect and deserve. That is how we stand out,” said Ben Sawatzky, Co-Owner and Manager of the store. “Thanks to its brand power and strong distribution network, RONA has a diverse retail offering, which will allow us to carry a wider range of building materials and to extend our design services,” he added.
“We are thrilled to have such dedicated entrepreneurs in our network of affiliated dealers. With all the changes they made in their store, RONA Vegreville’s owners will be well equipped to meet the growing needs of their customers and their community. By providing outstanding customer service and enhancing their Pro offering, they will succeed in remaining a leading home improvement destination in their community. We are proud to partner with them to ensure their growth and support them in this expansion project,” said Alain Ménard, Senior Vice-President, RONA Affiliated Dealers at RONA inc.
