Demand remained subdued. Strangely, double-digit price drops caused buyers to retreat even further to the sidelines.

In the week ending April 19, 2024, the price of Western S-P-F 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$408 mfbm, said forest products industry price guide newsletter Madison’s Lumber Reporter. This is down by -$44, or -10%, from the previous week when it was $452.

That week’s price is down by -$44, or -10%, from one month ago when it was US$452 mfbm.

Compared to the same week last year, when it was US$360 mfbm, that week’s price is up by +$48, or +13%. Compared to two years ago when it was $1,096, that week’s price is down by -$688, or -63%.

In the week ending April 19, 2024, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$340 mfbm. This is down by -$40, or -11% from the previous week when it was US$380 mfbm.

That week’s price is down by -$64, or -16%, from one month ago when it was US$404 mfbm.

Compared to the same week last year, when it was US$545 mfbm, that week’s price is down by -$205, or -38%. Compared to two years’ ago when it was $815, that week’s price is down by -$475, or -58%.
