Obituary

Brenda Frazier (Sutton) Frick was born in Knott County, Kentucky, on April 10, 1942, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023. She was the third child of Seaphas and Virginia (Stamper) Sutton. They both preceded her in death.

Brenda attended Rome City and Kendallville High School.

On June 13, 1959, she married Ford A Frick Sr. They have two sons, Ford A Jr., and Holly (Lash), and Christopher Benton and Teresa (Nesbitt).

She attended Merriam Christian Chapel, sang in the choir, was director of AWANA Pals and was a member of Gideons International.

Brenda was a lover of the Lord, servant to the church and a Cubs fan. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed annual travel excursions with siblings, family reunions and gatherings for holidays and birthday parties, and several years of Lake Cumberland boat trips with special friends.

She was the glue that held together the family-owned Frick Lumber Co. Inc., for 60 years, alongside her husband, son, son-in-law, granddaughter, grandsons and great-grandsons. She was fiercely devoted to every employee and treated them like members of her extended family. No destination was too far when attending a Chicago Cubs game with Ford, Ford Jr. and Chris. She enjoyed watching all her grandchildren play games, sing, dance and play instruments.

She served the Gideons State Auxiliary for 28 years, including as Vice President, Chaplain and Usher Chair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ford; and her siblings, Victor Sutton and Phyllis (Combs).

She is survived by siblings, Carl Combs, Joyce (Nichols) Sutton and Cephas, and Barb (Kaough) Sutton; grandchildren, Elisha and Austin Hess, Elizabeth and Travis Knox, Erin and Scott Archer, and Jared Frick and Lindsey (Peak); and great-grandchildren, Travis Jr. (TJ) and Lilly Knox, Nolan and Gage Hess, Chloeann and Elaina Sprouse, and Noble and Banks Frick.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hite Funeral Home and services will be held at Merriam Christian Chapel, Merriam, Indiana, on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023.

Visitation hours are Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, from 4-7 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at 9 a.m.

Pastors John French and Steve Pulley will be officiating services immediately following visitation at 10 a.m.

Those unable to attend may view the service virtually via live stream on the Merriam Christian Chapel YouTube channel.

Graveside services and burial will be at Orange Cemetery in Rome City, Indiana.
